More About Our Camps

Campers learn not only how to ride but also what it takes to take care of a horse. The camp is a great way to determine if riding lessons are worth investing in. Campers will do morning chores, groom, tack their horse and then ride. While this is not a “Paint Your Pony” type of camp, and campers will work hard, they will have fun doing it.

Take a look at Day at Camp.

Camp Structure

Each of the six horses has two Campers and a junior helper assigned to it. The students will be divided into two Riding Groups, each with an instructor. This instructor will teach a riding lesson and a dismounted lesson. A head instructor oversees all and can help an individual Camper who may need some one-on-one time.

Our regular students participate as Jr Helpers, and we have A&M Interns as Instructor’s Aids. The Jr Helpers must pass the Jr Helper Test day at the beginning of June. Teaching is a great way to learn not only about horses but also about yourself. This skill will help our students develop as young women and men.
